We spent a quick couple of days in Dubrovnik probably a day too short though. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best but we were treated to one fantastic sunset on the last day.
The days were spent wandering the old town and the city walls as well as eating fantastic seafood.
It was first time during the trip that we have come across huge numbers of tourists. The way they bus them in and out from the big cruise liners was quite amazing. I really wouldn’t like to think about the numbers during summer!
So we have marked Croatia down as a place we would to explore more when we are older!

We are now in Korcula and the sun has decided to disappear on us. So we thought we would take some time to update you all on our travels.
We spent two fantastic days in Hvar and enjoyed wonderful hospitality, beautiful scenery and delicious food.
Hvar Town
Luck was on our side on the ferry when Louise was approached by a lady sitting near us who wanted to know if we needed a room. We said yes and we were soon being taken to a huge apartment overlooking the town.
The rest of the time was spent strolling around the town and soaking up as much sun as possible.
Good old Croatian television was also kind to televise the Liverpool v Arsenal match so I got to witness Liverpool move into the semi finals with an easy win over Arsenal. What a trip!!!
We arrived in Korcula yesterday and have just enjoyed a fantastic lunch and will do a bit more wandering this afternoon. It is off to Dubrovnik tomorrow for our last couple of days in Croatia before we cross the border into Montenegro.
Korcula
Will keep you posted….

So we made it successfully to Split – just!!
After a nice day in Rijeka – a couple of hours is all your really need – we made it onto the ferry and immediately got chatting to an interesting Austrian couple over a couple of beers. We joined them for dinner and helped them celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary over a nice bottle of Croatian red.
With the ferry docking at Split at 6am we thought we would have sufficient time to have breakfast as the lady at reception told us breakfast was being served until 9am.
However she failed to tell us that breakfast was only been served to 9am for those remaining on the ferry. So here we are enjoying a nice breakfast to find out that they we had 15 minutes to get off the boat. So we made a quick exit!!
We have spent the past two days basking in the sunshine of Split and enjoying the hospitality of Maria our pensione owner.
We are off to Hvar this afternoon and look forward to what that island has to offer.
Louise is hungry so will keep you posted….
ps. will try to add some pics to flickr at some stage!
