So after our last post we headed to Bar in Montenegro to board the train to Belgrade. We thought we would spend a couple of hours exploring the Old Town of Bar before the train left at 9pm. But due to the luggage room shuttıng at 5pm we ended up havıng to kill 7 hours iın one restaurant makiıng each drink last as long as possible.

Fiınally the train arrıved and we were lucky to be placed in a cabin with 3 American fashion students. Our cabin was completed by Milan a student from Montenegro who was travelling to Belgrade for an universıty exam.

Even in the dark the train journey was fantastic travelling through mountains and canyons. It would have been fantastic to see it ın the daylıght. A few interuptions for passport checks and we made it to Belgrade at 8am in the morning ready for a whirlwind visit of Belgrade.

A quick walk around town and a kebab and we were on our way to the airport for our flight to Istanbul.

So we left Croatia three days ago and spent the last three nights at a fantastic hostel in Budva. It is a great base and has allowed us to explore the coast line.

One day we headed up to Perast and Kotor which are beautifully surrounded by amazing fjords. The highlight would have to be climbing to the top of the old fortress in Kotor which provided fantastic views across the region.

The other days have just been spent relaxing and we have been made very welcome by everyone at the hostel. Each night we have cooked together and we even planned to have a BBQ yesterday but the heavens decided to open up on us!!

We are now off to Belgrade on the overnight train so we can we pick up our flight to Istanbul.
Will keep you posted…
